World Cosplay Summit 2008 Adds Australian Leg

The World Cosplay Summit (WCS) will be adding an Australian segment to the international cosplay competition. Australian anime convention Animania will be hosting the Australian round of qualifying. Animania is a family of three Australian anime conventions, on in Sydney, one in Melbourne and one in Brisbane. The announcement was made at the recently held Animania Sydney, although no futher details were released.
The 2007 WCS finals were held in Nagoya, Japan, during August. Cosplayers from Italy, Germany, France, Spain, China, Brazil, Thailand, Singapore and Japan participated.
Negotiations to return WCS to North America are currently taking place, however details on the host event are not yet available. WCS last visited North America at Anime Expo in 2005.
