Junko Mizuno Confirmed for Marvel's Strange Tales Max
posted on by Egan Loo
The American publisher Marvel Comics announced on Friday that manga creator Junko Mizuno is part of the independent talent lineup contributing to Strange Tales Max, a three-issue anthology that will launch in September. Marvel is giving alternative comic creators such as Mizuno, Paul Pope, Peter Bagge, Molly Crabapple, and John Leavitt the opportunity to tell stories with Marvel's stable of characters. C.B. Cebulski, a writer, talent liaison, and former editor at Marvel Comics, had posted two Spider-Man drawings by Mizuno last June and had indicated that Mizuno was working on a Marvel project that "hasn't been officially announced just yet."
Viz Media published Mizuno's Cinderalla, Hansel and Gretel, and Princess Mermaid books, while Last Gasp Publishing and jaPRESS shipped her Pure Trance manga.
