Prince of Tennis 4-Panel 'Tribute' Manga Gets Flash Anime

Bundled with 2-episode Prince of Tennis II OVA on October 29

The July issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Hōkago no Ōji-sama (The Prince of After School), Takeshi Konomi and Ken-ichi Sakura's four-panel "tribute" manga to Konomi's The Prince of Tennis manga, is inspiring a Flash anime. The Flash anime will be one of the bonuses included in The Prince of Tennis II (Shin Tennis no Ōji-sama) original video anime sequel project.

Sakura (Dragon Drive) launched The Prince of After School gag comedy manga in Jump Square in 2008, and Shueisha published the third compiled book volume last September. The parody shows another side of Ryōma and the other characters that is not seen in Konomi's main manga.

The The Prince of Tennis II OVA sequel will ship on Blu-ray Disc (5,400 yen or about US$54) and DVD (6,480 yen or US$64) on October 29. It will include two episodes: "Kakumei e no Prelude" (Prelude to Revolution) and "Gekisen Kaishi" (A Fierce Battle Begins). The bonuses include The Prince of After School Flash anime, clean opening anime sequence, two clean ending anime sequences, U-17 Japanese Representative Training Camp snapshots, The Prince of After School's exclusive illustration sheet (pictured bottom right in image), and eight pages of liner notes.

The magazine is also announcing that the CD single for Keigo Atobe's opening theme song "Kakumei e no Prelude" will ship on October 4 — Atobe's birthday.

The OVA will tell the story after The Prince of Tennis II television anime (2012) of Ryoma and the rest of the U-17 Japanese representatives at a training camp.
