Latest entry in giant bug shooter slated for next year
Video game publisher D3 unveiled its Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair PlayStation 4 game at the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia Press Conference 2014 event on Monday.
D3 announced plans to bring its Earth Defense Force game franchise to the PS4 last year. In the games, alien bugs have invaded Earth, and it is up to the player to save humanity. The series has sold 32 million copies to date. Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair is expected to ship next year.
D3 released previous installments in the franchise in North America. Earth Defense Force 2025 (Earth Defense Force 4) was released stateside on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 18.
