MVM Announces Love Live and Captain Earth

MVM Entertainment has tweeted that it will release the first series of Love Live! as a DVD Collector's Edition on July 27, with an RRP of £39.99. In a later tweet, it confirmed that a Blu-ray would follow in 2016, including the English dub.

The "school idol project" is set at a school between Tokyo's Akihabara, Kanda, and Jinbochō neighborhoods. The school faces the danger of being "streamlined" out of existence, so nine of its female students decide to become idols to protect their school and boost attendance.

In 2010, the anime studio Sunrise, Lantis, and ASCII Media Works' Dengeki G Magazine launched Love Live! as a self-described "ultimate user-participation project" which lets its fans vote on the future of the fictional idols. A series of music CDs and animated music videos then followed. The members of the project announced this past February that an full anime series has been green-lit for next year.

MVM also tweeted that it would be releasing Captain Earth in two parts on DVD, with part 1 due on July 13 and part 2 following on September 14. It will released both on Blu-ray and DVD, but will be sub-only. The RRP will be £24.99 for DVD and £29.99 for Blu-ray.

The story involves a second-year high school student, the Tanegashima Space Centre and a mysterious all-mechanical lifeform Kill-T-Gang that is invading from the orbit of Uranus.

The BONES studio reunited Star Driver's director Takuya Igarashi and series script supervisor Yoji Enokido for this project. The two also collaborated in Ouran High School Host Club and Sailor Moon SuperS. Enokido said that, whereas Star Driver was a "school robot" story, they are now doing a conventional robot anime. Satoshi Ishino is adapting Fumi Minato's original character designs for animation, and he is also the chief animation director.

MVM also confirmed its release of the Amnesia collection on both DVD and Bluu-ray, due on July 6 with an RRP of £29.99 and £34.99 respectively.
