This year's second issue of Kodansha's bi-weekly Evening magazine announced on December 27 that manga artist Mohiro Kitoh (Bokurano, Noririn) will launch a new manga series titled Hayabusa-chan mo Tondemasu (Hayabusa-chan is Also Flying) in the magazine's third issue on January 10. The magazine also announced that Ao Akato will also launch a manga titled Riū wo Machinagara in the same issue.
The magazine revealed that Hayabusa-chan mo Tondemasu will feature a heroine who has wings and enjoys eating croquettes. The manga will launch with a full-color opening page and will be featured on the issue's cover.
Kitoh's Bokurano manga originally ran in Shogakukan's Ikki magazine from 2004 to 2009. North American publisher Viz Media released the manga under its Signature Ikki line as Bokurano: Ours (pictured right) and published the 11th and final compiled volume of the manga in 2014. The Bokurano manga inspired Gonzo's 2007 television anime series by the same name. Discotek licensed and released the anime for DVD in North America.
Kitoh launched his Noririn manga in Evening in December 2009 and ended it in 2015. Kodansha published the manga's 11th and final compiled volume in April 2015. Kitoh also created the Shadow Star and Vendemiaire no Tsubasa manga. Dark Horse Comics released Shadow Star in North America.
