The official website for the second Tokyo Ghoul stage play based on Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul manga revealed a new visual on Tuesday.
The site previously streamed a commercial for the play last month.
The stage play stars:
Ryo Matsuda as Ken Kaneki
Shōgo Suzuki as Nishiki Nishio
Mitsu Murata as Uta
Tomokazu Yoshida as Renji Yomo
- Yoshihide Sasaki as Shū Tsukiyama
- Kasumi Yamaya as Kimi Nishino
- Maho Tomita as Itori
- Aya Tabata as Tōka Kirishima
- Tadayoshi Katō as Yoshimura
Yūki Ogoe played Ken Kaneki in the previous stage play. The rest of the cast members are returning, except for the characters Shū Tsukiyama, Kimi Nishino, and Itori, who are all new characters in this second play.
Isamu Kayano and Chūji Mikasano are returning from the first play as director and scriptwriter, respectively. The new play will run in Tokyo from June 29 through July 4 at Theatre 1010. The play will then run on July 8-9 at Osaka's Umeda Arts Theater.
Tokyo Ghoul's first play debuted in the summer of 2015, performing at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo for a week in early July, and then at the Kyōto Gekijō for a few days in mid-July.
The manga is also inspiring a live-action film that will open in Japan on July 29.
Ishida serialized Tokyo Ghoul in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump from 2011 to 2014, and is now serializing Tokyo Ghoul:re. The two manga have a combined 22 million copies in print. Tokyo Ghoul inspired two anime series, several original video anime projects, and PlayStation Vita and smartphone games.
