CAPCOM to Release Monster Hunter XX for Switch

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Nintendo 3DS game shipped in Japan on March 18

CAPCOM announced on Friday that it will release a port of its Monster Hunter XX (pronounced as "Double Cross") game for the Nintendo Switch. It did not reveal a release date for the game.

The game shipped in Japan for the Nintendo 3DS on March 18.

Monster Hunter XX features a new "Style Power-up," which allows players to designate a Hunting Art as an "SP Art," granting benefits to the whole party on activation. The game also includes a new new Brave Style, a new field called "Igunrei" and a new "Ryūshikisen" base. The game features six main monsters, including: Gammoth, Astalos, Mizutsune, and Glavenus, and the new main monsters Balfarc and a new Diablos variant.

The Nintendo 3DS version of the game allows those who have save data from Monster Hunter X (pronounced "Cross") to transfer their save data to Monster Hunter XX. Additionally, those who have save data from Monster Hunter Stories also received a special bonus in the Nintendo 3DS version.

CAPCOM released the Monster Hunter X Nintendo 3DS game in Japan in November 2015. Nintendo released the game on last July in the West under the title Monster Hunter Generations. CAPCOM will also release its Monster Hunter Stories Nintendo 3DS game in the West this fall.
