Vincenzo Natali is directing Netflix-produced adaptation

Director Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice) announced on Twitter on Monday that manga artist Shintaro Kago will be the conceptual designer on his film adaptation of Stephen King and Joe Hill's In the Tall Grass novella.

Netflix is producing the film version of King and his son Hill's In the Tall Grass. The horror story follows a sister and brother who follow a boy's cry into a field of tall grass in Kansas, but find that there may be no way out.

KAGO is perhaps best known for his satirical psychological horror. BookLOUD serialized KAGO's Dementia 21 manga in English and Japanese in its bilingual ComicLoud digital magazine until the magazine ceased publication in 2013. BookLOUD also released four volumes digitally in both English and Japanese, and a total of seven volumes in Japanese. Fantatagraphics Books has a print release slated for August 31.

Viz Media released KAGO's Punctures short story manga in its Secret Comics Japan anthology book in 2000. FAKKU published KAGO's Super Dimensional Love Gun manga last July.
