Yuri!!! on Ice and Drifters Released Monday

On Monday October 8, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release a Blu-ray/DVD edition of Yuri!!! on Ice. It will carry the 12 episodes of the series and the following extras: Yuri Plisetsky GPF in Barcelona EX, "Welcome to the Madness" OVA, Eleventh Skate Commentary and Textless Opening and Closing songs.

The show's story revolves around Yūri Katsuki, who carried all of Japan's hopes on his shoulders to win at the Grand Prix Finale ice skating competition, but suffered a crushing defeat. He returns home to Kyushu and half feels like he wants to retire, and half feels like he wants to continue ice skating. With those mixed feelings swirling inside him, he confines himself inside his parents house. Suddenly the five-time consecutive world championship ice skater Victor Nikiforov appears before him, and along with him is Yuri Plisetsky, a young Russian figure skater who is already defeating his seniors. Victor and both Yuris take up the challenge on an unprecedented Grand Prix series.

Manga creator Mitsurou Kubo (Moteki, 3.3.7 Byooshi) and director Sayo Yamamoto (Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Michiko & Hatchin) are credited with the original work for the series. Yamamoto is also directing and overseeing the scripts for the series, and Kubo is designing the original characters and drawing the storyboards. Additionally, Tadashi Hiramatsu (Parasyte -the maxim-) is adapting the character designs for animation, Kenji Miyamoto is credited with the figure skating choreography, Taro Umebayashi (aka milk from PIANO) and Taku Matsushiba (PIANO) are composing the music, and Keisuke Tominaga (Kids on the Slope, Terror in Resonance music director) is the music producer. MAPPA is animating the series.

Universal Pictures UK will release a Blu-ray and DVD of the television anime of Kouta Hirano's Drifters manga. Both editions will contain the 12 television episodes of Drifters, but not the two subsequent OVA episodes. The Blu-ray and DVD will also contain a 40-page booklet on the series; a poster; character-art magnets; and artcards.

The manga centers around Shimazu Toyohisa, the real-life samurai who fought in the pivotal Battle of Sekigahara. In his dying moments, Shimazu is transported to a world of magic with other famous warriors throughout history. These warriors are forced to fight each other in an endless battle.

The anime celebrates the 70th anniversary of Shonengahosha, the publisher of the original manga. Kenichi Suzuki (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders series director) directed the anime. Hideyuki Kurata (The World God Only Knows, Tokyo Ravens, Maria the Virgin Witch) handled the series composition and wrote the scripts. Yousuke Kuroda (Hellsing Ultimate, Gungrave) is wrote the scripts along with Kurata. Ryoji Nakamori (Hellsing Ultimate) designed the characters and also served as chief animation director.

Manga Entertainment will release Dragon Ball Super Part 5 on Blu-ray and DVD, carrying episodes 53 to 65 of the series.

Manga Entertainment will also release a Yu-Gi-Oh! Movie Triple Pack on DVD, carrying Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie (aka Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light), Yu-Gi-Oh! 3D: Bonds Beyond Time and Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions.

Manga Entertainment will also release an individual Blu-ray and DVD edition of Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie (aka Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light).

MVM will release part 2 of Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works on Blu-ray.
