This year's 23rd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine revealed on May 9 that Masanori Morita will launch a new mini-series serialization of his Beshari Gurashi manga in the magazine's 31st issue on July 4. The new manga's story will take place after the final chapter of the original manga.

The manga's story centers around Keisuke Agatsuma, a high school student with a great sense of comedy. A student named Jun Tsujimoto transfers to his school. Both share ideas and form a plan to make a stand-up comedian duo. They aim to become pro together, despite the many hardships they will face.

Masanori Morita launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2005 and ended it in March 2015. Shueisha published 19 compiled book volumes for the series. The manga is inspiring a new television series adaptation that will premiere in July.

Morita also created the Rookies manga, which inspired a live-action television series in 2008, and the Rookies: Graduation film in 2009.
