New Texas author Samuel Bohon releases his first Graphic Novel this Christmas Season in Manga Form.
Dallas, TX, November 20, 2005 – Samuel Ian Bohon, former president of Skunk Comics, is releasing his first of three graphic novels entitled Ita: Code of the Dragon this June in all major book stores world wide. Based on the popular comic series, this book features an all new story and artwork from the new and talented Komikers Studios in Semerang, Indonesia and Infinite Dream Studios in Chicago. Spending over a year developing the story and art with several collaborators, this is Sam Bohon's first major work and dream project for the last five years. Published by Starline Multimedia, Inc., the successor and merger of Skunk Comics, and with an animated feature now in the works, this book is sure to raise the bar once again on the ever changing world of Manga (Japanese graphic novels).
Geared towards readers both male and female, thirteen and up, Ita: Code of the Dragon is the story of Ita Otami, the youngest captain ever to serve the Tokyo Police Department on a quest to hunt down the murderer of her fiancé when she suddenly finds herself thrust into a conspiracy of epic depths. Her path of righteous vengeance quickly unfolds into a millennium-aged war against mythological creatures, which until now have remained patiently hidden among us. Racing against time, Ita must now uncover the truth, before this hidden war destroys what's left of her family, and consumes the entire world. At 208 pages with a bonus gallery, author and artist commentary and staff profiles, Ita promises to be action packed and a small glimpse of Sam Bohon's grand vision.
"Ita: Code of the Dragon is a story that goes back as far as my homework in 6th grade" Samuel laughs, "My teachers all through school would tell me to stop drawing all over my class notes and binder, and now, to finally get the story out, as it was meant to be told, at last, is huge reward."
With 6 previous comics and countless hours put into the graphic novel, the first chapter in this exciting trilogy is ready with the second one quickly on its way. "I really wanted to get a chance to show a world that could exist, that young people of both genders and all interests could understand and enjoy, which is one of the major reasons I chose to tell it through Manga – the Japanese form of art mixed with American styled writing." Bringing the two together paid off famously as both eastern artists and western writers and editors put the book together with great ease and understanding. "It really gave us (artists and writer) to understand each other more, even through the tsunami which affected the artwork, we grew from the experience, and I think it will be very obvious in the book" Sam says. With the release right around the corner, fans of the comic are eagerly waiting its arrival.
