Takashi Shimizu in-store appearance

October 10, 2006 (Cypress, Ca) – Takashi Shimizu (Ju-On, Jun-On 2, The Grudge, The Grudge 2) will be appearing at Dark Delicacies, a horror specialty shop, in Burbank California on Sunday October 15 at 2pm. In addition to other items, he'll be signing copies of the 3-disc DVD collection, The Great Horror Family, which is being released by Bandai Entertainment, INC. on October 17. The series is the first ever horror-comedy produced for Japan and is in the vein of Sam Raimi's “Evil Dead” series. Mr. Shimizu is the show's creator and directed several episodes.

“We are pleased to get this event going for The Great Horror Family series on the heels of Mr. Shimizu's busy schedule involving the release of The Grudge 2,” says Bandai Entertainment's Robert Place Napton. “This will likely be his last appearance in the U.S. for sometime as he returns to Japan days after the event to begin work on Ju-On 3.”

The first 30 people who purchase at copy of The Great Horror Family will receive a rare exclusive: a Jun-On 2 poster which the director will sign and has been pre-signed by actress Takako Fujii who plays “Kayako” in both the Japanese and American versions of The Grudge.
