A Monstrous Silent Manga Audition® Round
Tokyo, Japan - March 18th, 2020
The 14th Round from the SILENT MANGA AUDITION® has begun and it promises to be a monstrous challenge for international manga artists to get their teeth into!
With the theme “CREATURES, SPIRITS & MONSTERS”, the round aims to showcase the mythical creatures, spirits and Monsters from the artist's own Folklore. In Japan, these creatures are known as YOKAI, and they have had a very important place in Japanese culture for centuries.
The Round promises a lot more creative freedom for manga competitors than past rounds. With a single caveat calling for “human interaction with a creature”, the artist is free to create a story of their own choosing, as long as it is dynamic with a show-stopping climax.
Along with the usual cash prizes and the possibility of joining the much coveted SMA MasterClass, award winners will also have the opportunity to have their work exhibited at the Kumamoto International Manga Festival in November, with the Grand Prix winner receiving an all-expenses paid trip to see the exhibition in person*!
Deadline for entries is July 30th, 2020 (12:00 noon Japan time)
