Italy Lands on Shonen Jump Plus
LONDON, UK - April 10, 2023 - “Miriam of the Skulls”, a one-shot manga written
and drawn by the Italian female mangaka Elena Vitagliano is going to be published
in Shonen Jump Plus.
It's the dream of every wanna be mangaka to be published by Shueisha and now we know it
is possible!
Elena is not just the first italian to be published on Shonen Jump Plus but also the first
European woman to win the Magic Competition.
Magic Monaco competition is a manga competition sponsored by Shibuya Productions and SHUEISHA Inc. since 2017 open to all manga artists.
"Miriam of the skulls" is set in an ossuary in Naples - Italy (city where the artist is from), with
an attractive female protagonist, giving off goth vibes, who is devoted to skulls and wants to
protect them at every cost. there is no official release date yet but it will be published in the
next few weeks.
Elena, who had already won the Grand Prix in the SIlent Manga Audition, is now waiting to go to Japan to meet editors from Shueisha.
ABOUT ELENA VITAGLIANO:
Elena lives and works as a mangaka and portraits artist in London and often visits her
hometown, Napoli.
Her work has been published in Japan, Uk, Italy and Indonesia.
She has cooperated with the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Japan House,
the London Science Museum and many others.
She teaches at the CGMaster Academy and is currently cooperating with a Japanese editor to
write and draw new stories.
