'You Don't Know Gunma Yet' Anime Collaborates With City, Restaurant in Gunma

posted on by Jennifer Sherman

You Don't Know Gunma Yet, the television anime shorts based on Hiroto Ida's Omae wa Mada Gunma o Shiranai manga, is collaborating with the city of Annaka, Gunma, as well as its Italian restaurant Shango. The visual for the collaboration with Annaka shows the anime's characters alongside Mount Myōgi, Akima Plum Forest, Megane Bridge, and Isobe Hot Spring, which are famous sightseeing locations in Annaka. The illustration also shows Isobe senbai crackers, which are made using water from Isobe Hot Spring, and kamameshi (kettle rice), a local specialty.

Shango has nine locations in Gunma Prefecture, and the restaurant's collaboration visual shows off its trademark pasta with meat sauce and a cutlet. The anime's characters appear as staff and guests at one of Shango's restaurants.

The anime premiered on April 2, and it has 12 episodes. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.

The comedy manga centers on Nori Kamitsuki, who moves from Chiba Prefecture to a fictionalized version of Gunma Prefecture northwest of Tokyo, and the story focuses on Gunma's culture. Before moving to Gunma, Kamitsuki only sees that the prefecture has a fearsome reputation on the net. Upon moving, he soon makes contact with the people who hold a strong love of Gunma's culture.
