Fate/Zero Blu-ray, Blu-ray Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians, Magi Released Monday

posted on by Andrew Osmond
New releases from Manga Entertainment and MVM.

On Monday April 28, MVM will release the first volume of Fate/Zero on Blu-ray in two editions: a standard edition and a limited Collector's Edition, pictured right. (The DVD editions of this title are already available.) The anime adapts the prequel novel by Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Phantom - The Animation, Blassreiter) to Type-Moon's Fate/stay night visual novel software. The story is set a decade before Fate/stay night and reveals the 4th Holy Grail War that sets the stage for the war in the software. Director Ei Aoki (Hourou Musuko, Ga-Rei: Zero, Girls Bravo), the anime studio ufotable, and composer Yuki Kajiura (Madoka Magica, .hack, Kara no Kyoukai) were all involved in the anime, which originally aired in two different seasons in October to December 2011 and April to June 2012.

MVM will also release Ikki Tousen: Great Guardians. The Anime-on-Line website describes the series as follows: 'The combat continues between teens guided by spirits of ancient warriors in round three of the original martial arts marathon! As the dust settles over the Battle of Red Cliffs, the fighters of Nanyo and Seito Academies form a peaceful alliance. Hakufu's ready to make some dough for tournaments, but her stacked reputation keeps the fearless leader up to her chest in trouble. Just when her joy peaks over meeting a mysterious sister from another mister, a foe Nanyo Academy once creamed returns!"

Manga Entertainment will release the second volume of Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic on both Blu-ray and DVD, continuing the adventures of Aladdin and Ali Baba.
