GJ Club@ Anime Special's Extended Ad Posted

Special aired on Tuesday, will ship on home video May 14

NTV aired an extended promotional video on Tuesday for the Blu-ray and DVD release of GJ Club (pronounced "GJ-bu Guruguru"), the sequel special to GJ Club (GJ-bu).

The special aired on Tuesday at 2:30 a.m. (Monday night) on NTV. The DVD and Blu-ray Disc will both ship on May 14. The Blu-ray Disc will retail for 6,800 yen (about US$66), and the DVD will retail for 5,800 yen (US$56). Both versions will include the 46-minute special, bonus footage, and a recording of last May's GJ-bu music festival.

The story is set during the spring vacation immediately after Mao and the others graduate. As the season turns and sakura flowers bloom, Kyōya is once again suddenly stuffed into a bag. When he is let out of the bag, Kyoya looks around and sees New York — except the room looks exactly like the GJ Club's room.

The first 12-episode television anime series adapted Shin Araki's GJ Club (GJ-bu) moe light novel series. Araki launched the original light novel series as the "first four-panel novel" in 2010; each of the nine volumes contains 36 short stories about high school students, and each story is only four pages long.

Yoshiyuki Fujiwara (Blue Exorcist, Sword Art Online) directed the first anime at the studio Doga Kobo (Yuruyuri). Hiro Shimono, Maaya Uchida, Yume Miyamoto, Suzuko Mimori and Chika Arakawa starred in the series.

The series premiered in Japan in January 2013 and ran through March. Crunchyroll streamed the series in various countries outside of Japan as it aired.
