Psycho-Pass & Gargantia writer makes 1st appearance at L.A. event in July

Anime Expo announced on Thursday that it will host novel and screenplay writer Gen Urobuchi (Fate/Zero, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) at this year's convention in Los Angeles. It will be his first appearance at this convention.

Urobuchi served as the head writer for the Puella Magi Madoka Magica television anime series, wrote the novel adaptation of Rei Hiroe's Black Lagoon action manga, developed the plots for the Phantom -Phantom of Inferno- game and the Phantom - The Animation spinoff, and supervised the scripts for the Blassreiter anime. Fate/Zero, his novel prequel to Type-Moon's Fate/stay night visual novel software, inspired a television anime. He also wrote the Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet and Psycho-Pass anime.

Before he delved into anime, Urobuchi wrote scripts for Nitroplus game titles such as Kikokugai: The Cyber Slayer and Saya no Uta. More recently, he scripted the live-action Kamen Rider Gaim television series. His upcoming projects include the robot science-fiction television anime Aldnoah.Zero and the anime film Rakuen Tsuihō - Expelled from Paradise-.

Anime Expo will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 3 to July 6. Urobuchi will appear at a panel, and he will also sign autographs at the Good Smile Company booth starting at 11:00 a.m. on the Friday and Saturday of the convention.
