2nd Parasyte Live-Action Film's Video Previews Bump of Chicken Song

Final film of Hitoshi Iwaaki's sci-fi manga to open on April 25

Film distributor TOHO began streaming a second promotional video for the Kiseijū Kanketsu-hen (Parasyte: The Final Act) film on Friday. The video features BUMP OF CHICKEN's ending theme song "Colony."

Text: Finally, the last decisive battle
Man: It's the humans that are the parasites that eat up the Earth!
Migi: Shinichi, I think I'm going to split with you.
Text: toward the shocking and moving conclusion—
Shinichi: There's something I want to protect...
Woman: It's a healthy child that Smiles a lot...
Woman: Shinichi is a human who thinks that even small lives are important!
Shinichi: Migi!!
Migi: Hurry up and go!
Narrator & Text: Kiseijū Kanketsu-hen
Narrator: Can you protect the ones you love?

BUMP OF CHICKEN also performed "Parade," the ending theme to the first Parasyte movie.

Shōta Sometani (live-action xxxHOLiC, All Esper Dayo!) stars in the films as Shinichi Izumi, Eri Fukatsu (Onnanoko Monogatari) plays Ryōko Tamiya, and Ai Hashimoto (Blood-C: The Last Dark, live-action Another, Sadako 3D) plays Satomi Murano. The cast also features Tadanobu Asano as Gotō, Masahiro Higashide as Hideo Shimada, Miko Yoki as Nobuko Izumi, Jun Kunimura as Hirama, Kazuki Kitamura as Takeshi Hirokawa, Hirofumi Arai as Uragami, Pierre Taki as Miki, and Nao Ōmori as Kuramori. Sadao Abe also stars as the voice of Migi.

Takashi Yamazaki (live-action Space Battleship Yamato, Always: Sunset on Third Street) is directing the films. Ryūta Kosawa (Always: Sunset on Third Street, Shōnen H) is writing the films' scripts. The first film is opened in Japan on November 29, and the second film will open in April 25.

The Parasyte manga also received a television anime adaptation which premiered on NTV last October. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan.
