AFA Singapore to Host Nijicon Idol Group, Singer Usagi

Southeast Asian convention Anime Festival Asia announced on Thursday and Friday that it will host the Niji no Conquistador idol group and singer Usagi as musical guests. Both will perform on the event's "Akiba Stage" location.

The Tsuku-dol! Project formed the 10-member Niji no Conquistador (Nijicon) idol group in 2014, and they are currently associated with the pixiv website, and performed the song "pixiv Ondo" for the site's "illustration matsuri" in November 2014. The group released its third single, "The☆Uchōten Summer," in August 2015, and it ranked #3 on the Oricon weekly single chart in its first week. The group released its first album, Rainbow Spectrum, in November 2015, and it ranked #8 on the Oricon weekly album chart in its first week. The group's latest single, "Kagiri Naku Bōken ni Chikai Summer," shipped on September 20 and ranked #9 in its first week. Their second album, Rainbow Eclipse, is slated for December 13.

USAGI won the Grand Prix prize of the Asia Anisong-Singer Audition (AAA) held at Anime Festival Asia (AFA) 2014 in Singapore alongside singer AkatsukiRin (RINRIN).

AFA Singapore will take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Center on November 25-27. Voice actors Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Kanae Itō, and Nobuhiko Okamoto, as well as writer Gen Urobuchi, are attending as guests. Previously announced musical guests include Aimer, Alisa Takigawa, Ami Wajima, HoneyWorks/CHICO with Honeyworks, Home Made Kazoku, JAM Project, Konomi Suzuki, KOTOKO, May'n, Minori Chihara, T.M. Revolution, Wake Up, Girls!, and Real Akiba Boyz.
