Daijirō Nonoue launched manga in Shonen Jump on Monday

Viz Media's app and website, and Shueisha's MANGA Plus app and website published the first chapter of Daijirō Nonoue's The Last Saiyuki (Saigo no Saiyūki) manga in English on Sunday. The manga launched in this year's 14th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Japan on Monday.

The manga centers on Ryunosuke, who loves baseball and decides in the third grade that he will join his school's baseball team. On the day Ryunosuke is set to turn in his permission slip to join the team, his father tells him that he's adopted a young girl who is now his younger sister. The girl's name is Koharu Mori, and she is blind and has prosthetic arms and legs. Ryunosuke's father says that because he can't be at home very often, Ryunosuke must stop going to school and spend his days taking care of Koharu. Ryunosuke hates his new situation, and his new sister, but starts warming up to her after a certain incident. Ryunosuke will soon learn that his sister has an inhuman power that can destroy the world.

Nonoue serialized the two-volume Mutō Black manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2013. Nonoue also published the two-chapter "Ikimono Seitai Kansatsu Variety: Bokura wa Minna" short manga on the Shonen Jump+ app and website in May 2015, and has also published one-shots in the Weekly Shonen Jump and Jump Next! magazines.
