'Love Me, Love Me Not' Shōjo Anime Film's Teaser Reveals Cast, Staff, May 29 Debut

The official website for the anime film of Io Sakisaka's Love Me, Love Me Not (Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare) manga began streaming a teaser trailer for the film on Tuesday. The teaser reveals the film's cast, staff, and May 29 opening date.
The cast includes (clockwise from upper left in image above):
- Marika Suzuki (debut theatrical anime role) as Yuna Ichihara, a romantic idealist, but passive towards starting a relationship
- Megumi Han as Akari Yamamoto, a girl who appears pragmatic, but has trouble expressing her true feelings
- Sōma Saitō as Kazuomi Inui, Yuna's straightforward childhood friend
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Rio Yamamoto, Akari's stepbrother who harbors his own internal conflict
Toshimasa Kuroyanagi (The Great Passage, Say, "I Love You"., Shōnen Hollywood - Holly Stage for 49) is directing the film at A-1 Pictures. Erika Yoshida (Trickster, Namu Amida Butsu! -Rendai Utena-) is penning the script. Yuu Yamashita (Bunny Drop) is designing the characters. Yuuji Nomi (Whisper of the Heart, Say, "I Love You".) is composing the music.

Viz Media licensed the manga, and will publish the first volume on March 3. Viz Media describes the manga:
Fast friends Yuna and Akari are complete opposites—Yuna is an idealist, while Akari is a realist. When lady-killer Rio and the oblivious Kazuomi join their ranks, love and friendship become quite complicated!
Sakisaka launched the manga in Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret in June 2015, and ended it on May 13 earlier this year. Shueisha published the manga's 12th and final compiled book volume on June 25. The manga is also inspiring a separate live-action film adaptation that will open in August 2020.
The series has topped 4.5 million copies, including those offered through digital services.
Sakisaka serialized her "traditional school romance" Strobe Edge in Bessatsu Margaret from 2007 to 2009. Viz Media published the 10-volume series in English. The manga inspired a live-action film that opened in Japan in March 2015.
Sakisaka's 13-volume Blue Spring Ride manga inspired a television anime series, an original anime DVD, and a live-action film in 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the television anime as it aired, and Sentai Filmworks released it on home video. Viz Media is releasing the manga in English.
