So I packed a couple suitcases and moved. DarkStork is getting sick of the lack of work ethic here. Will probable move in a year or less. DS is thinking he will move somewere in Florida. Obviously I'm not new but the only intro I've given was maybe in the old thread in 2006, one of maybe a dozen threads I posted in then. Previously I was a regular at Toonzone and at CBR but I've been on a huge anime kick for a while now and wanted to be active in a forum where that was the main focus.
Name: Jeff- I kind of got stuck with "Spastic Minnow"- it was supposed to be a temporary name because I couldn't think of anything else but have grown to like its uniqueness, if you Google "Spastic Minnow" there's a 99% chance it'll be about me, the other 1% will reference the hilarious "Banjo Minnow" fishing lure commercial I got the reference from. Sex: Male Blood Type: O+ ... or neg, I forget, the universal donor one. Location: Milwaukee Marital Status: Single Age: 35 Ethnicity:1/2 German, 1/8 Swedish- The rest is a European mish-mash + whatever tiny percentage of Native American I have from having Pocahontas as an ancestor (true). But I have never ever been truly drunk. Likes: The old English band XTC (I operate an XTC forum), animation in general of all sorts: Anime, Disney, Jan Svankmeyer and beyond, comics, film, music. Dislikes: Narrow-mindedness, commuting, and I have a strange pet peeve of not liking the recorded sound of liquid pouring, slurping, babbling, dripping,etc. Favorite anime: Spirited Away and most Ghibli, Millennium Actress and most Satoshi Kon. Azumanga Daioh, FLCL, Kamichu! Cowboy Bebop. I prefer character driven stuff, humor, and innovative concepts. I don't tend to watch much war/military/mecha based stuff and don't like power-driven villains. Favorite Manga (Light novels): Only read manga when an anime doesn't resolve a story well enough. Although I did read Love Hina (through the library) before seeing the show- as a sort of experiment to see what I thought of manga. I just find it too expensive of a habit to add to other expensive habits. Favorite Books: The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy books, Good Omens (Gaiman), Catcher in The Rye, Saint Maybe, Harry Potter. Favorite game: Not a gamer, but I like the Monkey Island series of PC games, which other fans would already know after reading my one cat's name. Favorite TV shows: Simpsons, The Venture Brothers, Arrested Development, The Daily Show/Colbert Report, Wipe-Out Favorite Movies: Barton Fink and most of The Coen Brothers films, Wall-E and other Pixar movies, Marx Brothers movies, Peter Weir movies (Dead Poets Society, etc.), Sympathy for Mr. Vengence, 3-Iron, Last Life in the Universe Favorite Sites: Engrish.com - Homestarrunner.com - Pandora.com - wikipedia - myYahoo for news feeds and XTC fan sites like Chalkhills.org and the forum I administer xtcbackporch.forumup.com becasue the official one before it went dead.
