Funimation Adds Fate/Zero Anime to Catalog

English-subbed, -dubbed streams begin on Friday

Funimation announced on Thursday that it will begin streaming the Fate/Zero television anime series on Friday. The company will stream the entire series in both English and Japanese with English subtitles in the United States and Canada.

The anime adapts the prequel novel by Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Phantom - The Animation, Blassreiter) to Type-Moon's Fate/stay night visual novel software. The story is set a decade before Fate/stay night and reveals the 4th Holy Grail War that sets the stage for the war in the software.

The first season of the anime premiered in October 2011, and a second season followed in April 2012. Ei Aoki (Hourou Musuko, Ga-Rei: Zero, Girls Bravo) directed the anime at ufotable.

Aniplex of America will re-release the anime's two box sets on October 25. Fate/Zero previously streamed on Neon Alley with an English dub, and the series streamed on Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan.
